This quilt
is done in the Dorothys Cabin pattern. The Egret, cleaning its feathers
and looking out over its nest forms the centre of the design. Loose strips of
fabric is used to create a secondary border. Wool and thread is also used on the
back and front of the quilt.
An egret is any of several
herons, most of which are white or buff, and several of which develop fine plumes
during the breeding season.
